Everland vs. Lotte World: A Must-Read for Those Debating Where to Go!

I've been to both Lotte World and Everland twice, and to be honest, they each have completely different charms. When friends visiting Korea for the first time ask me where they should go, it's always a tough decision.

Both places have clear pros and cons, so the choice depends on your travel style and situation. Based on my personal experience, I'll tell you which place is better in which situation.

Lotte World is located right in front of Jamsil Station, making it really accessible. You can get there directly via subway lines 2 and 8, and you can enjoy the shopping mall and aquarium all at once, making it the best choice for travelers with limited time.

Everland is on a mountain, so it's a bit more complicated to get to. However, Klook offers bus packages departing from major areas like Myeongdong, so it's not as difficult as you might think. Personally, I like the feeling of riding rides in nature, away from the city.

Everland wins hands down in this area. There have been times when I've only ridden less than 10 rides in a day at Lotte World because the wait times are so long. Especially late in the afternoon, Korean students with season passes flock in, making it even more crowded.

Everland is larger and a bit harder to get to, so the wait times are much more reasonable. You can enjoy more rides in the same amount of time, allowing you to fully enjoy the fun of a theme park.

You really shouldn't miss Everland's T-Express. It's a wooden roller coaster, and the moment you ride it, you'll understand why Everland is famous. And riding the Viking on the edge of a mountain is a really unique experience. It's so thrilling that you'll feel like you're about to fall down the mountain.

Being able to see lions and bears up close in the Safari is also a special feature of Everland. It's one of the things that friends from other countries find most fascinating.

Lotte World has a mix of indoor and outdoor rides, so you don't have to worry about the weather. There are also heaters installed in the outdoor areas. A big advantage is that you can enjoy it even in winter.

In terms of food, Everland is definitely better. The churros, in particular, are so delicious that I buy them every time I go. Overall, the food quality is better than Lotte World.

Lotte World also offers Korean food like tteokbokki, but it's a bit lacking in terms of taste and variety.

Everland is on a mountain, so it's much colder than downtown Seoul. If you go in winter, you have to be prepared for the cold. On the other hand, it's cooler than the city in summer, making it more pleasant to enjoy.

Lotte World has an indoor area, so you can enjoy it regardless of the weather, making it a safe choice.

You can enjoy the aquarium together at Lotte World. You can also see belugas (white whales), and you can use it more cheaply if you book a theme park and aquarium package from Klook. You can also shop at Lotte World Mall.

You can focus on the theme park itself at Everland. However, the quality and variety of rides and attractions are so high that you won't be bored all day.

Personally, I recommend Everland if you have enough time. This is because of the variety and uniqueness of the rides and the reasonable wait times. However, if you have a tight schedule or the weather is bad, Lotte World may be a better choice.

Both places have their own charms, so you can choose according to your travel style and situation. Whichever you choose, you can have a special theme park experience that you can only feel in Korea!
