Your Stress-Free Guide: Getting from Incheon Airport to Seoul Station
A breakdown of all transportation options from Incheon Airport to Seoul Station, based on personal experience. Includes comparisons of time, cost, and convenience.
AREX Express Train
The most direct way to get to Seoul Station from Incheon Airport is via the AREX express train. You can buy tickets on the B1 level. A standard seat costs ₩4,150, and a first-class seat is ₩6,900.
The journey to Seoul Station takes 43 minutes, with trains running every 12-15 minutes from around 6 AM to 11 PM. There's plenty of space to store your luggage without worry, and the Wi-Fi is reliable.
Tip: You can use T-money cards or WOWPASS for payment, but the express train requires a separate fare, so make sure your card has sufficient balance beforehand.
Commuter Train
Besides the express train, there's also a regular commuter train. It's much cheaper at ₩1,470, but it takes about an hour to reach Seoul Station, as it stops at several stations like Gyeyang and Gimpo Airport along the way.
If you have plenty of time and want to save on travel costs, this is a decent option. However, it can get quite crowded during rush hour.
You can check the detailed schedule on the Incheon Airport official website.

Airport Limousine Bus
The #6001 limousine bus operates from both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of Incheon Airport to Seoul Station. The fare is ₩16,000, and the journey takes about 70-90 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
The seats are spacious and comfortable, making it great if you're tired after a long flight. However, it's not recommended if you have connecting flights, as it's hard to predict travel time during rush hour or on weekends.
Operating Hours: First bus around 5:30 AM, last bus around 11:20 PM, with buses running every 20-30 minutes.
Taxi
Taxi fares from Incheon Airport to Seoul Station typically range from ₩60,000-80,000. Additional charges may apply for late-night surcharges or highway tolls.
If you're traveling with 3-4 people, the cost per person isn't too high, and it's worth considering if you have a lot of luggage or are traveling during early morning/late night hours. The journey time is about 50-70 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
Consider an International Taxi
International taxis are exclusively for foreigners and operate on a fixed-rate system instead of a meter. The fare to downtown Seoul is usually around ₩65,000-75,000, and the drivers are English-speaking, which can be convenient if you have difficulty with Korean.
Which Option Should You Choose?
If time is of the essence: The AREX express train is the most reliable option. You'll arrive on time without worrying about traffic.
If you want to save money: Take the airport commuter train. It takes a bit longer, but it's very affordable at ₩1,470.
If you want comfort: Consider the limousine bus or a taxi. However, you'll have to rely on luck when it comes to traffic conditions.
If you take the airport train, you might get lost when transferring to the KTX or subway at Seoul Station. Seoul Station is more complex than you think. Check the route on an app beforehand or ask a station employee for directions.
The limousine bus drops you off at the bus stop in front of Seoul Station, but you might get lost if you don't know the exact location. Before getting off the bus, ask the driver where you should get off.
When taking a taxi, it's best to write down the destination in Korean or show the driver the exact location on a map app. Even if you say "Seoul Station," there are multiple entrances.
Comparison of Total Travel Time for Each Method
In reality, you also need to consider the time it takes to get out of the airport and find transportation, as well as the time it takes to get from Seoul Station to your final destination.
AREX Express Train: Approximately 1 hour, including walking, waiting, and travel time.
Airport Commuter Train: Approximately 1 hour 20 minutes.
Limousine Bus: 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours (depending on traffic conditions).
Taxi: 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes (depending on traffic conditions).
Personally, unless there's a specific reason, I recommend the AREX express train. The travel time is predictable, and the cost is reasonable. However, if you're traveling during early morning or late-night hours, consider a taxi or limousine bus.
